Community Outreach Coordinator

The Community Outreach Coordinator contributes to The HOPE WORLDWIDE-PAKISTAN’S strong stakeholders engagement by ensuring we offer programs and opportunities for participation that meet the needs of our community.

About the Department/Operation/Program
This position is based at our Henderson office in the heart of West Auckland. HOPE is an organization based on Peace, Justice and Humanitarian Development. HOPE is driven to support families and individuals those are mostly in need in our communities.

About the program / role and hours
Organization delivers a number of programs , organizes events for Cultural Diversity, Social Integration Support Program and the Food Watch Program. These are very important programs of the organization , In which we support our Whanau to meet their social , cultural and dietary needs.
This position plays a key role and provides significant support to the families. Hours of work are likely to be 5 hours per day on Wednesday and Thursday only. (there is some flexibility about what time of hours on could be performed between 9am to 5 pm).

Job Description:
We are searching for a talented and professional Community Outreach Coordinator to maintain all community outreach activities. You will represent the organization and its work with the management team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the organization’s visibility within the surrounding community.
You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and community-driven to take on this exciting role. This position requires someone equipped with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player and passionate to bring the organization to next level up.

Responsibilities:
Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
Prepare the budget for community outreach activities / Social Inclusion Program.
Nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
Schedule regular outreach exhibitions/ meetings in the community and educate employees/volunteers on community responsibility.
Prepare accurate records and reports on the goals of the current programs and fundraising plan.
Oversee / develop a professional donor/ volunteer management system.
Assist in the organization on special events, including donor/volunteer appreciation and organization’s events and other fundraising initiatives.

Preferred Requirements:
Preferably Bachelor’s degree in the field of communications, marketing, social work business or other related fields.
Preferred work experience of 3-5 years within non-profit/ fundraising or outreach activities.
Outstanding written, communication and presentation skills.
Strong experience in preparing project reports and report writing for greater influence.
Friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude and willingness to adapt new methodologies.
Strong knowledge of social services and other community platforms.

About the Opportunity
For this role and Social Inclusion Program, HOPE now has an opportunity for a Social Inclusion Coordinator to join their team in Auckland on a part-time fixed-term basis from Jan 2021 to July 2021 with the possibility of an extension for one year or longer ( not guaranteed). We are
looking for a Registered Social Worker who has an extensive knowledge of working with people from Ethnic Community (Pakistani Culture ) and strong knowledge of cultural understanding will be great advantage for this role.

This role will be reporting to the Director – and will be responsible for facilitating and developing HOPE’S social groups meetings, providing opportunities for this specific ethnic community group including children and youth and senior citizens to participate in either individual and/or
group activities.

This role is only for 10 hours weekly, Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

1. Organizing / leading / facilitating social inclusion activities tailored to the individuals and family’s needs, using a person-centred approach.
2. Working alongside with Volunteers to engage individual and families to find solutions to the barriers or obstacles those are hindrances to their social engagement and integration.
3. Maintaining the social and emotional wellbeing of the targeted community by organizing activities and organizing schedule programs and activities
4. Managing the delivery of government funded programs to increase social connection within the community and building knowledge ,skills and relationships within their wider community.
5. Working with the Director and other team members to provide the community with opportunities to design social activities, in both groups and individual contexts to overcome the possible concerns.
6. Planning, delivering, evaluating and continuously improving the social inclusion program; and reporting on the program issues, service outputs, and areas for program development.

This role will be dealing with children, senior citizens ( elderly) , newly migrant individuals and families , former refugees and people with disabilities, as well as providing support for young people and families, women’s housing, emergency relief and social groups.

You will be responsible for compilation of report and outcomes of Social Inclusion Program.
